Avengers: Endgame was the aftermath of how our heroes are handling the consequences of decimation that happened in Infinity War. To fight back and bring the lost ones back, the remaining Avengers travelled back in time to get back the stones and made their own Infinity Gauntlet. Well, there is only one Avenger who is powerful enough to handle the gamma radiations from the infinity stones. That avenger is none other than The Hulk. He stepped up to bring the lost ones back to life but that left him armless.
Russo Brothers confirmed Hulk’s injury in Avengers: Endgame is permanent
Well, you may be thinking that his arm will heal with time but that is not the case. Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo confirmed that the scar left to him by the snap is permanent just like it was in the case of Thanos. In a conversation, he said, “He’s lost an arm. He lost Natasha. That’s not coming back. He’s damaged himself. I don’t know. It’s interesting. That’s permanent damage, the same way that it was permanent damage with Thanos. It’s irreversible damage. His arm, if you noticed, is a lot skinnier. It’s blackened. So, he loses a lot of strength there.” He also said that he may get a new arm or something but it’s none of his concern any longer.
He said, “But who knows? There’s a lot of smart people left. Maybe someone helps him repair that. Maybe someone gives him a new arm. I have no idea where that character goes from here. The nice thing is we didn’t have to pay attention to where it goes after this, we just try to tell a satisfying ending.”
Joe Russo also told that they also filmed a scene where Hulk and Banner came to an agreement and how Banner became the Professor Hulk. But it was cut from the film as the film was going to be too long.
